| Eliminator Puzzle
Instructions The Eliminator puzzle consists of a small crossword which has been divided into four equal segments, marked by heavy lines in the grid. The letters for each segment are shown in their appropriate corner – but with one extra letter in each group. The challenge is to rebuild the crossword using only common words – no plurals, verb forms ending with “S”, capital nouns etc. The four remaining letters can be arranged to form the 4-letter word given in the puzzle title. Hints Each division of the grid contains one unbroken 4-letter word, so it is a good idea to list all possible 4-letter words in each segment’s group of letters. Also, check to see if any letter of the word given in the puzzle title is unique to the grid, as this can be eliminated straight away. It is worthwhile circling or otherwise marking any letters in each segment which appear in the puzzle title - this can aid the elimination process as you rebuild the crossword. Eliminator is designed to be challenging. However, to aid solving each puzzle is constructed in such a way that the extra letters are not interchangeable with those used in the finished puzzle. For example, if a segment contains the word ZOOM its extra letter will not be B, D, L or R, since any of these could replace Z.
